Christian growth in the Easter Season
The easter season is full of sorrow, grief, remembrance, thankfulness, grace, joy, hope, and celebration. Although He was crucified, He is risen! So, what’s next? Growth.
More specifically, Christian Growth.
Easter morning is filled with joy, hope, and celebration, He is risen! But now what? Christian growth is a continuous journey. It doesn’t stop at the empty tomb. In fact, it’s really just the beginning. Jesus’ resurrection is the foundation of our faith. He is the Christ, our living sacrifice. Now it’s up to us to live in a way that shows His sacrifice was worth it.
Every day, put your best foot forward. Remember that phrase, What Would Jesus Do? It’s more than a simple phrase, it’s your call to action.
Have you ever wondered how to carry the resurrection message into your daily walk? If so, this post is for you. Let’s explore five simple but powerful ways to keep growing with Jesus long after Resurrection Sunday. (If you’re looking for a deeper daily reflection Check out our free He Is Risen: 5-Day Devotional. Each day includes a Bible verse, a reflection, and a call to live in response to Christ’s love.
1. Start Your Day with the Resurrection in Mind
Easter reminds us that Jesus kept His promise. “He has risen, just as He said.” (Matthew 28:6).
Have you given your heart to Jesus? What are you doing to live as a new creation in Christ? Did you know that consistent time with Christ can help you grow spiritually?
Try creating a morning routine that prioritizes time with Him. Try rading scripture, prayer, worship, or journaling. Be intentional about entering His presence. You might be surprised by how much you grow when you give God the first part of your day.
2. Forgive Quickly
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
Imagine if Jesus had waited for us to be perfect before loving us. Can you even imagine that world? I can’t. He loved us at our worts and gave everything so we may have life a new. Shouldn’t that kind of grace should change how we treat others? If Jesus could forgive us, can we not extend forgiveness too? Forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to reconnect with toxic people. It simply means releasing the burden so it no longer holds power over you. Set yourself free from that bind.
3. Walk in Resurrection Power
“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.” – Romans 8:11
You don’t have to stay stuck in fear, sin, shame, or confusion.
You don’t have to wonder if your prayers are being heard.
Not every delay is a “no”, and sometimes, God’s just is leading you to something greater.
The same Spirirt that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. Walk boldly in the resurrection power!
4. Share Your Story
The first people Jesus appeared to were told to “go and tell.” — (Matthew 28:10)
Your story doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. You never know who you can or will impact just by opening up about your journey. Jesus leaves the 99 for the 1 (a song to keep in mind); and maybe just maybe your story is meant for that one.
You don’t need a platform or a mic just be faithful. Speak up. Speak life.
5. Keep Showing Up
Christian growth isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up every day and choosing to live in the light of Christ. Choosing to be Christ-centered. Every day may not feel like Easter, but every day the Father looks at you and sees the blood of His Son covering you.
Even when you don’t feel it, growth happens in consistency. Read the Word even when you’re tired. Pray even when you don’t want to. Finally, forgive even when it’s hard.
The more you show up, the more your spirit grows.
Christian Growth Doesn’t End on Easter
The resurrection was not the end of the story, it was just the beginning of your growth in Christ.
You’ve been invited to walk with Jesus daily, in purpose and with hope. Don’t feel pressured to do it all at once.
Start small: a short prayer here, a few minutes in the Word there. Build these habits and dwell in His presence.
